How to Flash a Custom Recovery on the LG Vortex

Flashing a custom recovery on your LG Vortex will allow you to flash custom ROMs and all sorts of flashable ZIPs you find floating here and there on Internet. You’ll also be able to create backups of your current ROM, so if you’re stuck somewhere and unable to boot your device, you can easily restore these backups and get your device back on the track. Sounds interesting? huh. Let us show you how to flash a custom recovery on your LG Vortex.

I. Before You Begin:

1. You must have done our How to Root the LG Vortex procedure.

2. Your device needs to have at least 60% of battery life left.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. LG Vortex Utility (Download link’s available in the first post)

III. Flashing a Custom Recovery on the LG Vortex:

1. Download and place the Utility archive onto your Desktop.

2. Unzip files from the archive over to your Desktop.

3. Enable the USB debugging option on your device by heading to the path Menu>>Settings>>Applications>>Development>>USB debugging.

4. Connect your device to your PC via USB cable.

5. Double-click on the RUN_THIS_BATCH.bat file you have on your Desktop.

6. Press 6 on your keyboard and hit ENTER. It’ll flash the recovery on your device.

7. Follow the on-screen instructions.

8. And you’re all set!

Brilliant! You’ve successfully flashed a custom recovery on your LG Vortex. You can now use it to flash your favorite ROMs and Mods!
