How to Get iOS 6 Icon Badges in iOS 7 (Video)
Do you grave a bit of the old school style of iOS 6? Want to see how many notifications you have on each app icon in a less flat sort of way? Well then, you are in luck. Thanks to a jailbreak tweak developer, you can actually get those notifications back quite easily.
This tweak, in conjunction with Winterboard, allows you to finish off that iOS 6 look that you were perhaps going for with a custom theme. Best of all, it’s free.
Here’s how to install it:
I. Jailbreak your iPhone/iPad
1. To do this procedure you must be jailbroken. If you aren’t, you can head to our How to Jailbreak iOS 7.1.2 (the latest version at the time of writing this). Once done with that procedure and you have Cydia installed, head back here to continue.
II. Install Winterboard
If you don’t already have Winterboard, the popular theming jailbreak tweak, you’ll need to install it to use the Classic Badges tweak.
1. Open Cydia.
2. Tap Search in the bottom right corner.
3. Type in WinterBoard.
4. Tap on WinterBoard when it shows up.
5. Tap Install at the top right.
8. Tap Restart.
III. Install ClassicBadges
1. Open Cydia.
2. Tap Search in the bottom right corner.
3. Type in ClassicBadges.
4. Tap on ClassicBadges when it shows up.
5. Tap Install at the top right.
8. Tap Restart.
IV. Use ClassicBadges
1. Open Winterboard.
2. Tap on Themes.
3. Tap on ClassicBadges.
4. Tap Back.
5. Tap Respring.
