How to Get the iOS 6 Status Bar in iOS 7 (Video)
With iOS 8 just around the corner, maybe you’re feeling like iOS is just slipping away from you. The new flat and transparent styling is just too new age for you and you miss the good old days of gradients and layers. Well, if you’re jailbroken, there are still a few ways for you to get back to that former look you miss so much.
From iOS 6 inspired themes for Winterboard to iOS 6 notification icon badges, there’s plenty of ways to at least get the look of iOS 6 back. Some of those tweaks, however, might leave the status bar untouched and that might be that missing puzzle piece you need.
Thanks to SixBar, a tweak from the Cydia store, you can finish that puzzle by adding the black and white status bar to your iPhone or iPad. Here’s how to install it and use it.
I. Jailbreak your iPhone/iPad
1. To do this procedure you must be jailbroken. If you aren’t, you can head to our How to Jailbreak iOS 7.1.2 (the latest version at the time of writing this). Once done with that procedure and you have Cydia installed, head back here to continue.
II. Install SixBar
1. Open Cydia.
2. Tap Search in the bottom right corner.
3. Type in SixBar.
4. Tap on SixBar when it shows up.
5. Tap Purchase at the top right and follow the prompts to login and purchase using your preferred method.
6. Tap Close when you’ve paid.
7. Tap Install where Purchase used to be.
8. Tap Restart.
