How to Flash a Custom Recovery on the Galaxy Nexus (Sprint)

Want to install TWRP 2.1 Touch Recovery on your Sprint’s Galaxy Nexus smartphone? No problem, here’s how you can do it.

I. Before You Begin:

1. You must have unlocked bootloader of your Galaxy Nexus smartphone.

2. You must have ClockworkMod Recovery installed on your phone.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. Download the TWRP 2.1 Recovery from here.

III. Installing TWRP 2.1 Recovery on your Galaxy Nexus:

1. Place the downloaded recovery file on the Desktop of your PC.

2. Connect your phone to your PC using the USB cable.

3. Transfer the recovery file to your phone’s SD card root folder.

4. After the transfer has been finished, disconnect your phone from the PC.

5. Turn OFF your Galaxy Nexus.

6. Boot your phone into the ClockworkMod recovery. While your phone is turned OFF, press and hold Volume UP+Volume DOWN+Power keys.

7. Select the Recovery mode option using the Volume keys and then press the Power key to confirm it.

8. From the main menu of the recovery, choose install zip from sdcard option followed by choose zip from sdcard.

9. Navigate to the recovery file you transferred earlier to your phone and select it for flashing. It will begin installing TWRP recovery on your phone.

10. When it has finished installing the touch recovery, choose reboot system now from the main menu of recovery.

That’s all. You have done installing TWRP 2.1 Recovery on your Galaxy Nexus and from now on, you will be able to select options in the recovery by touching them, no need to use Volume keys anymore.
