How to Overclock the HTC One X
HTC One X has already been blessed with root and a custom recovery and there’s been a lot going on inside the device’s development forum. One of the development that has come forth is an overclocking kernel and it’ll certainly be welcomed by the flashaholics. What this kernel does is it allows you to overclock your device, it means you can make your CPU run faster than its predefined rate and hence enjoy some extra speeds on your device. If this sounds good to you and you would like to overclock your device, here’s how you can do that:
I. Before You Begin:
1. You must be rooted before you can do this procedure. Please head to our How to Root the HTC One X procedure first and root your device.
2. You must have CWM Recovery installed on your device. Follow our guide on the same to do that.
II. Make a Backup:
1. Head over to the Google Play and download and install the Quick Boot app on your device.
2. Once the app’s been installed, launch it from your App Drawer.
3. Hit the Recovery option and you’ll reboot into the Recovery mode.
4. Once in Recovery, select backup and restore followed by backup.
5. Create a backup of your current firmware and save it on your device.
6. You’re done!

1. Audacity Kernel (Download link’s available in the first post)
2. Boot Image
3. Fastboot
IV. Flashing the Overclock Kernel on the HTC One X:

16. It’ll begin flashing the kernel on your device and once it’s done, reboot your device.
17. You’re all done!
V. Overclocking the HTC One X:
1. Download and install either of these apps on your device:
2. Once installed, open the app from your App Drawer.
3. Use available options to increase your CPU clock speed and keep on increasing it as long as your device doesn’t go haywire.
4. Make sure not to choose save on boot option in the app as it may lead to crash of your device.
5. Once your device becomes comfortable with a specific clock speed, close the app.
6. You’re all set!
Brilliant! Your device’s been overclocked and get ready to experience blazing faster speeds on your device!
VI. Reverting Back to the Stock Kernel (Optional):
1. Open the Quick Boot app from your App Drawer.
2. Hit the Recovery option and you’ll reboot into the Recovery mode.
3. Once inside Recovery, select backup and restore followed by restore.
4. Restore the most recent backup you have there on the list.
5. Once the backup’s been restored, reboot your device.
6. You’re all done!
Cool! You’re now back to the stock kernel with no overclocking support!

bootloop after fastboot flashing
Hello omar,
Well, it’s not supposed to cause the bootloop issue.
Please restore the backup you created in Section II and it should put everything back to its original state.
Thanks!
