Video: How to Place Widgets in the Reachability View on Your iPhone (Jailbreak Tweak)

You know what all of these Cydia tweaks are for? They’re to fill-in the gaps that Apple has put on its devices. Today, we’re talking about the actual gap that you see when you double-press the Home button on your iPhone 6 or 6 Plus. The actual screen falls down and creates a gap on the top to bring everything on the screen closer to your hand (but that gap doesn’t actually contain anything useful that you can do).

To make good use of that space, or reachability view, you can place some widgets there. So that when you feel like using your phone one handed, you can see the weather of your city, or maybe take a look at your stocks to see how they’re performing.

Enter Carpe Diem, a Cydia tweak, that allows you to take advantage of the aforesaid space and make it useful for you. Here’s how to install and use it:

I. Jailbreak your iPhone/iPad

1. In order to do this procedure, you must be jailbroken. If you aren’t, head to our How to Jailbreak iOS 8.1.1 and finish it, then come back to this procedure and continue.

II. Install Carpe Diem

1. Launch Cydia.

2. Tap Search in the bottom right corner.

3. Type in Carpe Diem and tap it when it appears.

4. Tap Purchase in the top right corner.

5. Use your preferred payment method and finish the purchase.

6. Tap Close when the purchase’s done.

7. Tap Install in the top right corner. It used to be Purchase, but now it says Install.

8. Tap Confirm.

9. Tap Reboot Device when the tweak’s installed.

III. Use Carpe Diem

1. Go to Settings > Carpe Diem.

2. Select the widget you want to see in the reachability area.

3. Double-press the Home button and see the tweak working for yourself.

4. You’re done.
