How to Root the Acer Iconia Tab A700 running Jelly Bean

So you updated your Iconia Tab A700 to Jelly Bean and it broke root-access? No worries, you can easily regain the root-access by simply following a couple of steps given in the following guide. Once re-rooted, you’ll again be able to load your favorite root-only apps on your device and everything would be as smooth as it was before. So, let’s get started with the procedure:

I. Before You Begin:

1. As you may already know, this will void the warranty of your device. However, unrooting will help you restore your warranty if there’s any unrooting procedure available.

2. You must have unlocked bootloader of your device. You can unlock the bootloader from here.

3. This works on Windows based PCs only.

4. This installs CWM Recovery as well.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. EasyRoot (Download link’s available in the first post)

III. Rooting the Acer Iconia Tab A700 running Jelly Bean:

1. Download and place the EasyRoot archive onto your Desktop.

2. Unzip files from the archive over to your Desktop.

3. Turn ON the USB debugging option on your device by heading to Menu>>Settings>>Developer options>>USB debugging.

4. Once enabled, plug in your device to your PC using the USB cable.

5. Now double-click on the easyroot.bat file you extracted earlier to your Desktop.

6. Follow the on-screen instructions.

7. And you’re all done!

Excellent! Your A700 has been rooted as well as equipped with a custom recovery. You’re now all ready to begin your customization journey!
