How to Root the Alcatel One Touch 906Y

Who doesn’t like to customize his Android device? I’m sure the first time Android users would also like to modify their devices so they can get the most done with the minimum effort required. Rooting is a thing for those users that allow them to get their hands on the system level files to modify any part of the OS. For example, if you’re looking to make some changes in the build.prop file, you can do so using root. This guide explains how you can root your Alcatel One Touch-906Y smartphone and get the most out of it. Here you go:

I. Before You Begin:

1. This will void the warranty of your device. However, you can reinstate the warranty by unrooting your device if there’s any unrooting procedure available.

2. This procedure should work on Windows based PCs only.

3. You should have Java runtime installed on your PC.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. SuperOneClick (Download link’s available in the first post)

2. Alcatel Android Manager (Download link’s given in the first post)

3. Android Development Kit (Download link’s given in the first post)

III. Rooting the Alcatel One Touch-906Y:

1. Place all three files you downloaded to your Desktop.

2. Install the Alcatel Android Manager as well as Android Development Kit on your PC.

3. On your device, head to Menu>>Settings>>Applications>>Development and turn ON the USB debugging option.

4. Plug in your device to your PC via USB cable.

5. Double-click on the SuperOneClick executable file.

6. Hit Root button in the app and it’ll start rooting your device.

7. Within a few seconds, your device will be rooted!

8. And you’re done!

Congrats! Your Alcatel device has been successfully rooted and is all set to be loaded with root-only apps!
