How to Root the Archos Gen8 Tablet
It is not necessary that a device could have only one root method, there could be multiple methods to root a device. For the Archos Gen8, there are two root methods available, first being the one-click root and the second being the complex one. In the following procedure, we have covered the first root method which you can use to root your Archos Gen8 Tablet. Here you go:
I. Before You Begin:
1. You must be running on the Firmware Version 2.0.71.
2. Your device should have at least 10 MB of free storage on the Internal Memory.
II. Downloading Required Files:
1. Archangel App (Download link’s given in the first post)
III. Rooting the Archos Gen8 Tablet:
1. Download the Archangel App to the Desktop of your PC.
2. Connect your tablet to the PC using the USB cable.
3. Transfer the App’s APK file to the memory of your device.
4. Disconnect your tablet from the PC.
5. On your tablet, install the APK by going to File Manager and then tapping the App name.
6. Launch the app from the App Drawer.
7. In the app, tap on Install Superuser Application button.
8. Tap the Get Root button to root your device.
9. Checkmark the Permanent Root option in the app to permanently root your device.
There you have it. Your tablet is now rooted using the One Click method and you can now try accessing the root-only apps.
