How to Root the Huawei Honor 2

Huawei Honor 2 is Huawei’s flagship Android smartphone that carries with it a Quad-core processor, something we don’t often see in Android devices. Other specs include a 8MP Camera, 4.5″ inch huge screen and runs Android 4.0 ICS out-of-the box. The true potential of an Android device lies in its root and if you can somehow get there, you can do whatever you want with your device. Fortunately, root-access has been gained on the Huawei Honor 2 smartphone and the guide below shows exactly how you can root your device. So go ahead and get your device rooted:

I. Before You Begin:

1. This will void the warranty of your device. However, you can reinstate the warranty by unrooting your device if there’s any unrooting procedure available.

2. Make sure your device has at least 50% of battery life left.

3. You should have appropriate drivers installed on your PC. If you don’t, get them from here.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. Motochopper (Download link’s given in the first post)

III. Rooting the Huawei Honor 2:

1. Place the Motochopper archive on your Desktop.

2. Extract files from the archive over to your Desktop.

3. Enable the USB debugging option on your device by simply heading to Menu>>Settings>>Developer options>>USB debugging.

4. Once it’s been enabled, plug in your device to your PC using the USB cable.

5. Double-click on the run.bat file available on your Desktop.

6. It’ll start rooting your device.

7. Reboot your device once it’s been rooted.

8. You’re done!

Congrats! Your Huawei Honor 2 has been successfully rooted! Just look for the Superuser app in your App Drawer and you’ll find it sitting right there!

IV. Flash a Custom Recovery Image (Optional):

1. If you would like to flash a custom recovery image in order to flash custom ROMs, head to the How To Flash a Custom Recovery Image on the Huawei Honor 2 to learn how to do that.
