How to Root the Huawei MediaPad 7 Lite (S7-931-u/S7-931w)

The Huawei MediaPad 7 Lite tablet has been around for some while and though it doesn’t boast of high-end specs, it’s still an affordable option if you are looking a tablet that ticks some of the right boxes.  The device features a 1.2GHz CPU coupled with 1GB of RAM and comes with the usual bevy of connectivity options including the ability to make GSM calls.  Rooting this device is bound to give it a few more bells that Huawei failed to hang on it, and if this is what you want, the guide below should help you.

I.  Before You Begin

1.  Make sure that you have charged your device to 75% or more before you begin.

2.  Back up anything that is important on the tablet before you start.

3. This works with the S7-931u and S7-931w variants of the MediaPad 7 Lite only; do not try this on any other variant as you may end up bricking your device.

II.  Necessary Downloads

Huawei MediaPad ROOT ICS Android 4.0.x.rar

III.  Rooting the Huawei MediaPad 7 Lite

1.  Extract the Huawei MediaPad ROOT ICS Android 4.0.x.rar file you downloaded above to a folder on your desktop.

2.  Enable USB Debugging on your device.  To do this, go to Settings > Development options and tick the USB Debugging checkbox.

3.  Connect your device to your PC.  If there are drivers being installed at this point, let them do so before continuing.

4.  From the extracted folder, double-click on the Install Root.cmd to begin the rooting process.

5.  Wait for your device to reboot thrice.

Once your device is finished with its reboot, it should be completely rooted!

  1. BEST POST I SAW FOR HUAWEI MEDIAPAD 7 LITE >>>> THANK U >>>>> ONE THING I DID NOT LIKE …. SUPER USER AFTER ROOTING BECOME DEVICE APPLICATION AND CAN NOT BE UNINSTALLED ….

Okay, I know I might be kinda late here, but Superuser is the app that provides a portal for other general third-party apps to communicate with the system. You would lose root if you remove it. Your device may function incorrectly without it, as, when you root it, there may be changes in the scripts of your device to provide the user access to the system partition. However, if you don’t like it to be in your App Drawer, you can simply hide it from there. This may require a custom launcher app. 😀 It is Android. You can do anything and everything with root. (Most of the things without root. Lol.)

  2. SIR AFTER REBOOTING 3TIMES BY ITSELF WHEN THE 3RD BOOT COMES I THOUGHT IT IS DONE BUT WHEN I USE THE ROOT CHECKER TO CHECK IF MY DEVICE IS ROOTED IT SAYS THAT “THE DEVICE IS NOT ROOTED PROPERLY” WHAT WILL I MUST DO SIR?

  3. One of my friends have a Huawei MediaPad 7 Lite S7-931u. Recently his son tried few pattern attempts & It began to ask google account to unlock saying “Too many pattern attempts”

But it is not possible as it doesn’t connect to Wifi or mobile network in this status!

Its ICS unrooted one & he doesn’t know whether debugging enabled or not & no recoveries installed..

We both tied to upgrade it with official update from Huawei(by copying “dload” to SDcard). But instead of upgrading it restarts normally to the above screen asking to sign in to google account to unlock.

so the tablet became totally useless.

Is there a way to Hardreset/Install a new ROM or any other method to make this work?

    1. Switch off UA tab, then hold down both volume +- buttons while still holding them press the power button until u see does prompt, select wipe data factory reset .use vol buttons to scroll power button for OK. It will certainly work other wise get me through pokeapin@gmail.com
