How to Root the Karbonn A15 running Android 4.0.4 ICS

The Karbonn A15 is a mid-range device that features a 4-inch touchscreen display, dual SIM support, a 1GHz processor, a 3.15MP camera and currently runs Android 4.0.4.  With so little going for this device, rooting it is bound to get some more utility out of this device.  The guide below will help you do just that – root your Karbonn A15

I.  Before You Begin

1.  Make sure you back up everything you feel is important before you begin.

2.  Charge your device to 75% or more to prevent unwanted shutdowns during the procedure.

3.  Install the necessary drivers before you start.  Use these if you are unsure about this.

II.  Necessary Downloads

Android_Root_1.0.zip

III.  Rooting the Karbonn A15

1.  Enable USB debugging on your device.  To do this, go to Settings > Development and tick the USB debugging checkbox.

2.  Connect your device to your PC.  If there are any drivers being installed at this point, let them do before continuing.

3.  Extract Android_Root_1.0.zip to a folder on your desktop.

4.  From the extracted folder, double-click on ICS_Root_Unlocker.bat and press any key on your keyboard to begin the rooting process.

5.  Your device should reboot a couple of times.

6.  When you come to the next ‘Press any key‘ screen, ensure that your device is completely on and not in the process of rebooting and then press any key on your keyboard.

After rebooting several times, your Karbonn A15 should be completely rooted.  Check for the Superuser app in your app drawer to verify or install any root-requiring apps from Google Play to be doubly sure.

If this procedure helped you please thank/donate to the original developers here.
