How to Root the Micromax Bolt A62
Have you been wondering what all you can do with your Micromax Bolt A62? Well, there’s a lot you can do with it and the root-access opens up a number of options for you to customize your device. From installing root-only apps to removing system apps, you can do almost everything on your device once you’ve gotten root-access on it.
Rooting is the process of gaining administrative rights on your Android device. Once we root our Android device, we can then make changes to it to customize it well beyond what it normally can do.
Once you have root access on your Micromax Bolt A62, you’ll be able to:
- Remove apps that were preinstalled by your carrier/manufacturer from your device.
- Free up storage space (because of the above benefit).
- Increase battery life (apps that might have been running constantly can be removed).
- Increase performance (after removing apps that are always running, the device will be less bogged down and run smoother).
- Update to a new version of Android (by flashing a custom recovery/ROM, see the end of this procedure for more info on that).

I. Before You Begin
1. This will void the warranty of your device. We won’t be held responsible if you end-up damaging your device, do it at your own risk.
2. This should only work on Windows based PCs.
3. You should have required drivers installed on your PC. If you haven’t, you can download the latest drivers from here.
II. Downloading Required Files
1. Download vRoot and save it to your desktop.
2. Download CWM Recovery and save it to your desktop.

3. Download Mobile Uncle Tool from the Google Play to your device.

III. Rooting the Micromax Bolt A62
1. Double-click on vRoot executable file and follow the installation wizard to install the tool on your PC.
2. Once installed, launch the tool on your PC.
3. Enable USB debugging on your device by heading to Menu > Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging.
4. Plug in your device to your PC using the USB cable.
5. Click Root in the vRoot and it’ll begin rooting your device.
6. It’ll tell you when it has rooted your device.
7. You’re done!
Congrats! Your Micromax Bolt A62 is now rooted and has SuperSU app installed on it. If you’re interested in flashing a custom recovery on your device, you can follow the following section.
IV. Flashing a Custom Recovery on the Micromax Bolt A62
1. Connect your device to your PC using the USB cable.
2. Extract files from CWM Recovery archive by right-clicking on it and selecting Extract here.
3. Copy the extracted CWM Recovery Image over to the root of your device’s SD card.
4. Launch the Mobile Uncle app you just installed on your device.
5. Tap on Recovery Update.
6. Select the CWM Recovery Image you just copied to your device and it should start flashing it on your device.
7. And you’re all set!
Excellent! Your device now has a custom recovery installed on it that’ll let you flash custom ROMs and custom Mods, available for your device.
