How to Root the Motorola Electrify 2
Motorola Electrify 2 is an Android smartphone that runs on the US Cellular network in the US. Being an Android device, you can do all of those things that you usually do with other Android devices, exactly, we’re talking about root. You can now root your Electrify 2 as a root method has surfaced the Internet, all thanks to devs. So, if you’re interested, then head onto the following guide and get your device rooted:
I. Before You Begin:
1. This will void the warranty of your device. However, you can reinstate the warranty by unrooting your device if there’s any unrooting procedure available.
2. You should have appropriate drivers installed on your PC. If you don’t, get them from here.
II. Downloading Required Files:
1. Root Tool (Download link’s available in the first post)
III. Rooting the Motorola Electrify 2:
1. Place the Root Tool archive onto your Desktop.
2. Unzip files from the archive over to your Desktop.
3. Turn ON the USB debugging option on your device by heading to Menu>>Settings>>Developer options>>USB debugging.
4. Enable the Unknown sources option as well by heading to Menu>>Settings>>Security>>Unknown sources.
5. Enable the Mock Location function by heading to Menu>>Settings>>Developer options>>Mock Location.
6. Plug in your device to your PC using the USB cable.
7. Select Media Sync as the connection type.
8. Now, here comes the OS-specific steps:
a) If you’re on Windows, run the EasyRootICS_Windows.bat file.
b) If you’re on Linux, run the EasyRootLinux.sh file.
c) If you’re on Mac, run the EasyRootICS_OSX.sh file.
9. It’ll start rooting your device and once it’s done, reboot your device.
10. You’re all done!
Awesome! Your Electrify 2 smartphone has been successfully rooted and is equipped with the Superuser app. Go ahead and install your favorite root-only apps on your device!

Is this only for devices still running ICS or will devices upgraded to Jellybean work also?
