How to Root the MyPhone A618 TV Duo
If you’re looking for a smartphone that doesn’t look cheap but still comes at a price you can afford to buy, then the MyPhone A618 TV Duo is the one you should be looking for. Running on the Android operating system, the device has a 800MHz processor and 256MB RAM, good enough for your day-to-day tasks that you perform on your device. The most interesting part is, despite being a not so popular phone, it’s been able to grab the attention of developers and finally, we’ve a root method for the device. Yes, you can root your device and enjoy thousands of root-only apps available out there on your device. Sounds interesting? huh. Follow the following guide and get your MyPhone A618 TV Duo rooted.
I. Before You Begin:
1. This will void the warranty of your device. However, you can reinstate the warranty by unrooting your device if there’s any unrooting procedure available.
2. This works on Windows based PCs only.
II. Downloading Required Files:
1. Unlock Root (Download link’s given in the first post)
III. Rooting the MyPhone A618 TV Duo:
1. Place the Unlock Root archive onto your Desktop.
2. Extract files from the archive over to your Desktop.
3. Open the Registry Editor on your Windows PC. To do so, press Windows Logo+R keys together.
4. Type in regedit and hit Enter.
5. In the Registry Editor, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>>SOFTWARE>>Microsoft>>Windows>>CurrentVersion.
6. Look for the Device Path entry and copy its value to somewhere on your PC. Then, clear the current value.
7. Minimize the Registry Editor for now.
8. Run the Unlock Root tool by double-clicking on its executable file available on your Desktop.
9. Enable the USB debugging option on your device by heading to Menu>>Settings>>Applications>>Development>>USB debugging.
10. Once enabled, connect your device to your PC via USB cable.
11. Click Root button in the tool and it’ll start rooting your device.
12. Follow any instructions you get on your screen.
13. Once it’s done, reboot your device.
14. Now maximize the Registry Editor that you’ve kept open.
15. Head to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>>SOFTWARE>>Microsoft>>Windows>>CurrentVersion.
16. Replace the value of Device Path entry with the value you copied earlier.
17. And you’re done!
Great! Your device’s been successfully rooted and is installed with the Superuser app. Root-only apps and other thing that require root-access should now work fine on your device!
