How to Turn your Galaxy Nexus into a Galaxy S3 looking Smartphone
It hasn’t been much time since the Galaxy S3 became available in the market and almost all sorts of developments are happening for it. First, the stock ROM of the said phone’s leaked out and it enabled developers to achieve root access on it. They extracted some of the unique apps from the ROM as well and presented them in front of the end users like us. The Galaxy S3 addon has now been prepared for the Galaxy Nexus and if you can’t wait to try it out, then follow the steps given below. It will turn your Galaxy Nexus into a Galaxy S3 looking smartphone.
I. Before You Begin:
1. You must have rooted your Galaxy Nexus before doing this procedure. Please head to our how to root Galaxy Nexus procedure first, finish it, then return to this procedure and continue.
2. You must have installed ClockworkMod recovery on your phone. See this guide to learn how to do so.
II. Downloading Required Files:
1. Download the Addon File from here. (First Red button on that page)
2. Download the Launcher from here. (Second Red button on that page)
III. Installing Addon on the Galaxy Nexus smartphone:
1. Place both the downloaded files onto your Desktop.
2. Connect your phone to your PC using the USB cable for the file transfer purpose.
3. Transfer both the Addon as well as the Launcher files to the Root folder of your phone’s SD card.
4. After the files have successfully been transferred to your phone, simply disconnect it from the PC.
5. Turn OFF your smartphone using the Power button.
6. Reboot your phone into the ClockworkMod Recovery. To do so, press and hold Volume UP+Volume DOWN+Power buttons together.
7. Choose Recovery from the menu that appears on your screen.
8. While inside the Recovery, choose install zip from sdcard followed by choose zip from sdcard.
9. Browser to the Addon file you transferred to your phone and select it using the Power button for flashing.
10. Hit the Yes option on the next screen to allow flashing of the Addon.
11. When it’s done flashing the Addon, choose install zip from sdcard>>choose zip from sdcard once again.
12. This time, choose the Launcher file for flashing using the Power button.
13. After the flashing is done, choose reboot system now from the main menu of the recovery.
The Addon has successfully been installed on your Galaxy Nexus smartphone. You should see it when your phone boots up, enjoy !
