How to Unroot the Acer Iconia Tab A101

So you finally decided to unroot your Acer Iconia Tab A101 device? No problem, we’ll help you do that. The guide below shows exactly how you can unroot your device and get it back to stock firmware. Any modifications that you may have done on your device will be lost and you will be able to use your device from a fresh state. Here’s how:

I. Before You Begin:

1. You should have rooted your device using the procedure given here.

2. You need to have a custom recovery installed on your device. Follow this guide to do so.

3. Your device should have at least 70% of battery life left.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. Stock ROM (Download link’s available in the first post)

III. Unrooting the Acer Iconia Tab A101:

1. Place the Stock ROM archive on your Desktop.

2. Plug in your device to your PC via USB cable.

3. Copy the Stock ROM file over to the root of your SD card.

4. Once it’s been copied, unplug your device from your PC.

5. Power OFF your device.

6. Reboot your device into Recovery mode by pressing and holding down the Volume UP+Power buttons together.

7. Once inside Recovery mode, select install zip from sdcard followed by choose zip from sdcard.

8. Choose the Stock ROM zip to be flashed on your device.

9. It’ll begin flashing the ROM and once it’s done, reboot your device.

10. You’re done!

Great! Your device has been unrooted and is back to the stock firmware. Should you ever need root-access again, you can re-root your device!
