Sick and tired of using root on your Acer Iconia Tab A700? Want to unroot your device to claim its warranty? No problem, this guide should help you do that. While root has its own advantages, it does have a disadvantage that it voids the warranty of the device you’re rooting. However, unrooting helps reinstating warranty of the device and here’s how you can do that:

I. Before You Begin:

1. You should have rooted your device using the procedure given here.

2. Make sure your device has at least 70% of battery life left.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. Stock Firmware (Download link’s available in the first post)

III. Unrooting the Acer Iconia Tab A700:

1. Download and place the Stock Firmware onto your Desktop.

2. Rename the firmware file to update.zip.

3. Connect your device to your PC using the USB cable.

4. Copy the Stock Firmware (update.zip) file over to the root of your SD card.

5. Once the file’s been copied, unplug your device from your PC.

6. Power off your device.

7. Now press and hold the Volume UP+Volume DOWN+Power buttons together.

8. It will automatically install the stock firmware on your device.

9. Once the firmware has been installed, reboot your device.

10. And you’re all done!

Brilliant! Your A700 has been successfully returned to stock firmware with no root-access. The warranty of your device has also been reinstated!
