How to Unroot the Archos Gen8 Tablet

If it has been sometime you rooted your device and played with, now you want to go back to the unrooted state. No problem, you can always do so and here we have a guide on how you can unroot your Archos Gen8 Tablet. Unrooting this tablet is as easy as rooting it, just install an app and you are good to go. Here’re the steps to do so:

I. Before You Begin:

1. You should have rooted your tablet using the procedure given here.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. Archangel App (Download link’s given in the first post)

III. Unrooting the Archos Gen8 Tablet:

1. Download the app mentioned above on your PC.

2. Connect your tablet to your PC using the USB cable.

3. Copy the App to the internal storage of your device.

4. Disconnect your device from the PC after the file has been copied.

5. Install the app on your tablet using any File Manager.

6. Open the app from Menu by tapping its icon.

7. In the app, uncheck the option labeled Permanent Root.

8. Exit the app on your tablet and reboot it.

Great job! You have successfully unrooted your tablet. When it boots up, you won’t be able to run the root-only apps, that indicates a successful unroot.
