How to Unroot the Huawei Ascend Y200

Need to send in your device for any warranty purpose? Want to unroot the device first to reinstate its warranty? No worries, here’s how you can do that. Compared to rooting procedure, unrooting’s much easier to do and you’ll be done with it in no time. So, let’s see how you can unroot your Huawei Ascend Y200 smartphone.

I. Before You Begin:

1. You should have rooted your device using the procedure given here.

2. This should restore your device to stock firmware.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. Stock Firmware (Download the latest firmware available)

III. Unrooting the Huawei Ascend Y200:

1. Download and place the Stock Firmware archive onto your Desktop.

2. Unzip files and folders from the archive over to your Desktop.

3. Connect your device to your PC using the USB cable.

4. Copy the dload folder that you extracted from the archive over to the root of your SD card.

5. Once it’s been copied, unplug your device from your PC.

6. Turn OFF your device.

7. While your device’s turned OFF, press and hold the Volume UP+Volume DOWN+Power buttons together.

8. It’ll automatically start the stock firmware installation and should take some good time to finish.

9. Once it’s done, your device will reboot.

10. You’re done!

Great! You’ve successfully restored your device to stock unrooted firmware. You now have your lost warranty back!

  1. Should I do it, when im using link2sd and I have 2 partition on my SD card(1 normal, 1 ext2 or ex3 i dont remember)? Is this a problem? Should I remove the link2sd program and should I format the SD card before I do the firmware update?
