How to Unroot the Nexus 7 Tablet
Hundreds of custom ROMs came out after the launch of the Asus’ Nexus 7 tablet. If you bought this Asus tablet and installed the ROMs, you know how wonderful it all feels. Although custom ROMs are great to play with, stock ROMs are better in terms of stability. The following guide explains how you can unroot your Nexus 7 tablet, so you can be back to the factory firmware. Here you go:
I. Before You Begin:
1. You should have rooted your device using the procedure given here.
2. Your device needs to have at least 60% of battery life left.
3. The following procedure works on Windows based PCs only.
II. Downloading Required Files:
1. Nexus Root Toolkit (Download link’s given there in the DOWNLOAD section)
III. Unrooting the Nexus 7 Tablet:
1. Place the Root Toolkit file on the Desktop of your PC.
2. Connect your tablet to the PC using the USB cable.
3. Double-click the Toolkit file to launch it.
4. Choose Nexus 7 as your model when the tool asks you for it.
5. From the Toolkit, in the Back to Stock section, select Device is on and then click the Flash Stock+Unroot button.
6. On the next screen, choose the default factory image and other options as shown in the following screenshot
7. Hit the OK button and it should begin unrooting your Nexus 7 tablet.
Well done ! Your Nexus 7 Tablet has been successfully unrooted and it runs on the Stock Firmware provided by Google. You are no longer able to run root-only apps on the tablet.
