How to Unroot the Oppo Find 7 (Video)
Maybe you messed something up, maybe you just want to start from scratch or maybe you need to send your Oppo Find 7 in for warranty? Regardless of the reasoning, unrooting the Find 7 is your solution. When we refer to unrooting generally, we aren’t just talking about removing root access –we’re talking about bringing the device completely back to the way it was when it arrived in the sexy black box it comes in. So with that being said, in this tutorial, I’m going to show you how to get the device from running a custom ROM with a custom recovery image to the latest version of ColorOS with the stock Oppo recovery.
Here goes…
I. Before You Begin
1. This will erase the device so please backup anything you don’t want to lose.
II. Flash the Stock Recovery
1. Turn off the phone.
2. Turn it back on by holding down volume up and power until you get into fastboot mode.
3. Plug the device in via USB to the computer.
4. Download the Recovery Installer for the Find 7 from the developer and save it to your desktop:
5. Double click the Recovery Installer exe file to run it.
6. Type the number of the option to install the latest stock recovery and hit enter.
III. Flash the Stock ColorOS on the Find 7
1. Download the stock firmware for the Find 7 and save it to your Desktop.
Stock ColorOSÂ (Version 1.2.5i)
2. Copy the .zip file to the root of your device’s storage (not inside any other folders, just on the internal storage itself. Do not extract it, leave it as a .zip).
3. Unplug the device.
4. Turn off the phone.
5. Turn it back on by holding down Volume Down and Power until the Oppo logo appears, then let go.
6. Using the volume buttons to navigate and the power button to select the option you want, select Wipe Data and Cache.
7. Select Install zip and select the ColorOS file.

Hi there! I believe this article would be very helpful, since I am in the position to have an Oppo Find7 wich is rooted and I’d very much like to “unroot” it.
But sadly I can’t do so, because the Recovery Installer was deleted. Is there any other way to unroot the phone (which I bought used and rooted and didn’t know it was rooted at the time)? Or would you happen to have the files necessary to do so?
Thank you very much, any help is appreciated!
Hi there,
Sorry but I don’t control that page where you download from and I’m not the developer of the toolkit so you’d need to click the link for the recovery installer above here on my page then post for an alternative link in the forum or search that forum for an updated link.
Sorry! Hope he updates the link!
