How to Unroot the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active
Maybe you don’t like to have root-access on your Samsung Galaxy S5 Active anymore? Maybe you just want to get back the stock feeling on your device? Either way, this guide should help you. It teaches how you can unroot your Galaxy S5 Active and get it back to stock.
Once on stock firmware, you’ll have all of the factory settings as well as system apps. Here’s how:
Unrooting is the process of removing root access, a custom recovery (if you have one), and just trying to get the device back to as close to stock as possible.

I. Before You Begin
1. You should’ve rooted your device using the procedure given here.
2. This only works for the SM-G870W variant of the device.
3. This procedure should only work on Windows based PCs.
4. You should’ve required drivers installed on your PC. If you don’t, go ahead and get the latest drivers installed from here.
II. Downloading Required Files
1. Download Odin and save it to your desktop.
2. Download the appropriate stock firmware for your device and save it to your desktop.
III. Unrooting the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active
1. Right-click on each of the archives you downloaded and select Extract here. It’ll extract all the files to your desktop.
2. Once extracted, double-click on Odin executable and it’ll launch.
3. Click on PDA and choose Stock Firmware that is available on your desktop.
4. Make sure Repartition is unchecked in the Odin.
5. You can checkmark the boxes that say Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time.
6. Turn OFF your device.
7. Get your device in Download mode. To do that, hold down Volume DOWN, Home, and Power buttons together.
8. Hit Volume UP when a warning appears on your screen. You’ll then enter download mode.
9. Connect your device to your PC via USB cable.
10. Hit Start in the Odin. It’ll begin flashing stock firmware on your device.
11. When the firmware’s flashed, your device will automatically reboot.
12. You’re all set!
