How to Unroot the Sony Xperia X10

Unrooting your Sony Xperia X10 will help you reinstate the warranty of the device, which is useful in case you’re visiting the service center for any warranty kinda purpose or your manufacturer’s offering free goodies for the devices having valid warranty and you want to grab them. Either way, this guide will help you unroot your device and let you enjoy your warranty-goodies. So, here’s how you can unroot your Sony Xperia X10.

I. Before You Begin:

1. Your device must be rooted using the procedure given here. If you used any other method to root your device, then the following procedure may or may not work for you.

2. This works on Windows based PCs only.

3. You should have appropriate drivers installed on your PC.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. Unroot Package (It’s attached in the post #145)

III. Unrooting the Sony Xperia X10:

1. Place the Unroot Package you downloaded to your Desktop.

2. Unzip files from the archive to your Desktop. Don’t run any files just yet.

3. Turn ON the USB debugging option on your device by going to Menu>>Settings>>Applications>>Development>>USB debugging.

4. Enable the Unknown sources option as well which is located in Menu>>Settings>>Applications>>Unknown sources.

5. Once both the options are enabled, connect your device to your PC via USB cable.

6. Now double-click on the RUNME-UNROOT.bat file you extracted earlier to your Desktop.

7. Follow the on-screen instructions.

8. And you should be unrooted finally!

Great! Your device’s now back in the warranty period and is unrooted as well. You may want to uninstall root-only apps as they will no longer work on your device, here’s a guide on how you can do so.
