How to Unroot the Sony Xperia Z1S

Before you sell your device or send it in for warranty reasons, you need to make sure it’s unrooted. If you’re rooted, here’s how to unroot your device and get it back to unrooted state.
Unrooting is the process of removing root access, a custom recovery (if you have one), and just trying to get the device back to as close to stock as possible.

I. Before You Begin

2. This doesn’t flash the stock firmware on your device. This only removes root-access from your device.
II. Unrooting the Sony Xperia Z1S
1. Open App Drawer on your device and tap on SuperSU. It’ll launch.
2. Tap on Settings.
3. Scroll all the way down until you see the Full unroot option. Tap on it.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions.
5. You should now be unrooted!
Tada! Your Xperia Z1S is now unrooted. You’ll no longer see the SuperSU app in your App Drawer.

Tried this, and though it goes through the motions and removes SuperSU, the device remains rooted. Didn’t really see any onscreen instructions if that matters… just puts up some info at the beginning.
Did you install Root Checker to verify whether the device’s rooted or not?
Yes, and it’s showing that it’s still rooted… which I can confirm by reinstalling SuperSU. If I wasn’t rooted it would throw an error. Have tried several times, same result… and yes, rebooted as well.
Well, the Full unroot option is supposed to fully unroot your device, leaving no traces of root on your device.
Not sure why you’re having issues with it on your device.
You might want to wait till we come up with a procedure that flashes the stock firmware. It’ll help you unroot your device and get it back to stock. Meanwhile, this should do the job if your purpose is to send in your device for warranty reasons.
