How to Unroot the ZTE Avid 4G
Have you had enough playing with your rooted ZTE Avid 4G smartphone? Want to unroot and go back to stock firmware on your device? No worries, here’s how you can do that. Getting the device back to stock is pretty easy and the guide below explains the entire process for your convenience. Here’s how you can unroot your ZTE Avid 4G smartphone:
I. Before You Begin:
1. You should have rooted your device using the procedure given here.
2. You must have CWM Recovery installed on your device. See our guide on the same to learn how to flash CWM on your device.
3. Your device needs to have at least 70% of battery life left.
II. Downloading Required Files:
1. Back to Stock (Download link’s given at the bottom of the first post)
III. Unrooting the ZTE Avid 4G:
1. Download and place the Back to Stock archive onto your Desktop.
2. Plug in your device to your PC using the USB cable.
3. Copy the archive over to the root of your SD card.
4. Once it’s been copied, unplug your device from your PC.
5. Now head on over to Google Play and download and install the Quick Boot app on your device.
6. Once the app’s been installed, launch it from your App Drawer.
7. Hit Recovery option in the app and your device will reboot into the Recovery mode.
8. From there, select install zip from sdcard followed by choose zip from sdcard.
9. Choose the Back to Stock zip to be flashed on your device.
10. It’ll start flashing the zip on your device.
11. Once it’s been flashed, reboot your device.
12. And you’re all done!
Brilliant! You’ve successfully unrooted your ZTE Avid 4G smartphone and now it runs the official stock firmware with no root!
