How to Unroot the ZTE Fury
So you have rooted your ZTE Fury to feel the freedom but now looking to get back to unrooted state? No problem, we’ll help you do that. Unrooting helps you reinstate the warranty of your device and at the same time, it breaks access to root hence the root-only apps you may have on your device won’t work any longer. Read on to know how to unroot your ZTE Fury.
I. Before You Begin:
1. You must have rooted your device using the procedure given here. If you used any other method to root your device, then the following procedure may or may not work for you.
2. Your device should have at least 50% of battery life left.
II. Downloading Required Files:
1. Fastboot
III. Unrooting the ZTE Fury:
1. Download and place the Fastboot archive onto your Desktop.
2. Unzip files from the archive over to your Desktop.
3. Turn ON the USB debugging option on your device by heading to Menu>>Settings>>Applications>>Development>>USB debugging.
4. Once enabled, connect your device to your PC using the USB cable.
5. Now launch a Command Prompt Window on your Desktop. To do so, just hold down the Shift button on your keyboard and right-click on any empty area on the screen, then select Open command window here.
6. Type in following command into the Command Prompt:
su -c rm /system/xbin/su
7. Once it’s done, reboot your device.
8. You’re unrooted now!
Great! Your device has been successfully unrooted as the command just deleted the SU binaries from your device. You now have your warranty back, enjoy the stock version!
