HTC Desire Gives Up on Gingerbread
HTC has been trying for several months to boost it’s HTC Desire up to Android 2.3 speeds but has fallen short. The HTC UK Facebook page announced their efforts to upgrade to Gingerbread have proven fruitless and blamed a lack of internal memory space. See the actual post below:
“Our engineering teams have been working hard for the past few months to find a way to bring Gingerbread to the HTC Desire without compromising the HTC Sense experience you’ve come to expect from our phones. However, we’re sorry to announce that we’ve been forced to accept there isn’t enough memory to allow us both to bring Gingerbread and keep the HTC Sense experience on the HTC Desire. We’re sincerely sorry for the disappointment that this news may bring to some of you.”
Still want a Gingerbread? You can always root you device using our How Tos and flash a custom Gingerbread ROM.
Next time make sure you look for a phone with a minimum of 8G built in memory. Forget about HTC.
