HTC Flyer now available in Europe, Honeycomb update to follow soon

HTC’s debutant in the tablet section, the Flyer, has officially been outed in Europe today.  Interested customers can walk into a relevant store anywhere in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Greece, Portugal and other countries to get one starting this day.  The tablet will be available in 3G and WiFi-only variants with the 3G version (with 32GB onboard storage) retailing at €649 and the WiFi-only device (oddly with only 16GB onboard memory) selling at €499.

What sets the Flyer apart from the ever-growing group of other tablets is the ability to use a specially crafted stylus that syncs notes written using it with audio recording, a very useful trick for students as clicking on the word will take the user to the audio recorded at the time of writing the text.  The $80 “Scribe Pen” will be bundled with both versions, free of cost.

HTC had already announced that the Flyer, currently rocking Gingerbread, will be upgraded to Honeycomb soon after the release.  The company is known to keep its word – most of the times – and we should be hearing something on the Honeycomb update very soon.
