HTC HD2 gets an Android 4.0 port, currently in beta

This handset should have been dead and buried by now, but the HD2 seems to be more resilient than we thought.  The aging device, initially outed with Windows Mobile OS, has been through many phases, mostly during its latter years, ultimately making its jump on to the Android bandwagon which only helped make it even more popular.  Now, the device takes another giant leap and joins the few handsets that have attained Android 4.0 status already.

The build, dubbed NexusHD2-IceCreamSandwich, though in the beta phase currently seems to be ready for daily consumption except for a few nonworking components, like the camera, hardware acceleration, headphone jack and USB mass storage.  Head over to tytung‘s thread on XDA to know more and try it if you are a proud owner of this undying device.
