HTC HD2 goes NoDo thanks to devs
For a device that is almost two years old – which is a ripe old age in mobile years – the HTC HD2 still seems to be doing very well, thank you. The devs have been at it and have churned out an umpteen number of Windows Mobile 6.5 ROMs, a slew of Android builds (up to Gingerbread) that can run flawlessly (most of the times) both from an SD card and directly from NAND memory, and more recently, Windows Phone 7. The dev team in question here, WaterBear Project, has now taken it a step further and we have a WP7 build that incorporates Microsoft’s previous update, NoDo, into the ROM. Be sure to check the video running it above if you have any doubts about it.
The HD2 has been patiently handling whatever is thrown at it and many owners are more than reluctant to let go of the device and seeing how active the community is surround it, we don’t really blame that. It’s a pity though that Microsoft doesn’t see it fit to release Windows Phone 7 for the device, but it looks like we really don’t the Redmond giant to intervene anyway.
So, what’s on the cards next for this infallible device? WP7 Mango perhaps?
