HTC Puccini Android tablet caught in the wild for the first time
The 10.1 inch tablet from HTC has long been in the news, with us getting word of its existence first in May, then it being FCC’ed recently and also giving us a glimpse into its UI in between. Until now, we have seen promo shots of the device or a schematic rendition of its innards, but thanks to Engadget, we get to see the device in the flesh for the very first time today. The leakster, who sent the pictures to the site, has also confirmed that the Puccini (or the Jetstream as might be known on AT&T) is in fact in the testing phase right now and will be ready for a launch soon. As we heard already, chances are that HTC could show it off and its stylus pen in early September – so a release might not sound that unlikely.
The rumored specs also seem to align with what we have heard till now and the Puccini will feature a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, a 10.1 WXGA display that supports Scribe input, 16gigs of onboard user memory and Honeycomb version of the Android OS. There’s also the 8MP lens that was talked about, accompanied by dual LED flash. And yes, the device will support AT&T’s 4G bands, which is prominently splashed on the back bezel of the device if you take a look at the pictures in this post.
We’ll be on the lookout for more dirt on this device before HTC actually comes out and announces it. In the meanwhile, click on the images above to get a larger view of the HTC Puccini in various poses.
