HTC Touch HD2 on Sale in Europe, Confirmed to Come to US in 2010
So today the HTC Touch HD2 goes on sale in Europe and Asia (which means you can import it if you don’t care too much about 3G). But the real interesting news is that HTC has confirmed (again?) that the HD2 will be coming to a major US carrier in 2010. There was a rumor of T-Mobile USA getting it, but then again with all this crazy Verizon smartphone push and the fact that Verizon says there are phones we haven’t seen yet (that generally doesn’t apply to those of us familiar with European phones mind you), this could be one of them.
Hmm who knows… but more importantly, do any of you guys care? Is anyone here interested in the HD2 and do you care which carrier gets it? Anyone thinking about buying the Euro version instead of waiting (and just sacrificing 3G)?
It is a amazing looking device but with windows mobile its a deal breaker. If only htc would have put Android on this….
Awhile back, someone said the TP2 would be a limited production run for Verizon and would only be out 4 or 5 months before it was pulled from the line-up. This may be why it’s constantly out of stock. It wouldn’t surprise me if Verizon has another HTC WinMo phone up their sleeve to take it’s place. Perhaps we will see the HD2 by the end of the year on big red.
you now what would be amazing a blu-ray phone not sure if its possible but imagine that
This phone is amazing, i really havent given windows mobile a try but this phone makes me want to! lol
I really dont see the difference between 3G n Edge, i guess cus i got some pretty good Edge coverage, so i wouldnt mind sacraficing it. 😀
And if it came to T-Mobile, that would be great cus T-Mobile now has the Equipment Installment Plan, which would work great for me to get this phone. Ah so many signs for me to buy this phone! (thats a good excuse for my addiction to buying a new phone every month)
Yeah +1 Michael, No more windows devices for me unless it has parallels….so I can run android LOL
The HTC HD2 is so heavely skinned that WinMo is NOT an issue. The feature set of this phone is some of the best with NO WinMo coming through on any of the menues.
Give me this phone today on Big Red and I will need two of them. iPhones go to eBay shortly after. Goodbye by AT&T and all of its horrible memories.
Has anyone heard any news on the HTC Passion?
Sorry about the second post, didn’t think the first one went through.
The name Passion was thought to be the HTC HD2 for Big Red. Its all rumor and hype for now. Is Black Friday the tell all here, or first part of 2010? I can wait but not on T-Mobile.
i agree with michael android on this big touch screen incredible…device cant beat it
I have used and manipulated iPhones since they were invented. With unlocked and jailbroken devices, you can have an amazing smartphone but…..
Apple’s attitude in the past, no cut and paste, no apps we don’t authorize, and still refusing flash for streaming video gets in the way.
Well, with trouble with the new iPhone OS (overheating, battery drain, communication breakdown)I decided to jump onto the WM phone, the HTC Pro 2.
After only 3 days, I have gotten this phone to do everything the iPhone does and MUCH more! Try running Atom.com on the iPhone, I can do it on the HTC. Putting in apps (there are many), it’s a breeze. I can even make the phone look like the iPhone with the many apps. Its (Pro 2) camera is superior. Its intercome is great. I can say that the new Windows mobile 6.1 (soon) 6.5 in the Pro 2 is a great package.
WAKE UP FOLKS!!! Pay attention to the pic of the hd2. It IS running android and not winmob!! Dub. LOL. It just has winoffice as an app. Pay closer attention, for there is a widget on the lower left that says “marketplace”!!!
Chris,
Marketplace is the name of the app store for windows mobile… market is for android…
i love my android but im waiting for tmobile to release a good android phone (mytouch isnt working out for me :-(). i was thinking of trying the hd2 but all this talk about windows mobile scares me since ive never tried it, the only thing i established is windows app. market is horrible and their apps are expensive. can anyone give me advice on why windows mobile is not good?
I know it’s a long shot, because they already carry a lot of great phones, but I really hope AT&T gets this, because that’s what I have and do not want to switch. I have been obsessed with this phone for months. From what I’ve read, it was have 3G even when it does come to the US, it will use EDGE. The phone runs their HTC Sense gui over the WinMo OS, and it’s said that Sense does s decent job covering up Windows. This phone is gorgeous and with the 1GHz SnapDragon CPU, it’s lightning fast.
Great finally
