HTC vying for the “first 3D Android” title

With Sharp already in the mix, it has now come to our attention that HTC may be planning to do the same – build a 3D Android phone and build it before anybody else does.  The rumor has sprung up after HTC advertised a job opening looking for a design engineer with the knowhow on 3D displays and imaging tech, but of course, this could also mean there might be a WP7 3D phone brewing too.

All this might sound like conjecture right now, but with the Taiwanese mobile giant having already dabbled with 3D before (as was evident by its array of 3D devices displayed at the last Mobile World Congress), this wouldn’t really be such a farfetched idea.  The company is also eyeing e-ink and AMOLED technology, which is currently the mainstay of research at their R&D Center in NC’s Research Triangle Park.

HTC has always been on top of its game as far as its cellphone displays are concerned, so if they do come out with a 3D Android device in the future, we are sure it will be nothing short of amazing.
