How To Launch Apps From Your Lock Screen In iOS 7 (Video)

Ever wish you could wake up your phone and open apps right from the lock screen? AppBox adds app shortcuts to the lock screen, eliminating the need to unlock your phone. It might not seem worth it just to bypass the lock screen, but once you try it for often-used apps, you won’t go back.

I. Jailbreak your iPhone/iPad

To do this procedure you must be jailbroken. If you aren’t, you can head to our Jailbreak How To’s section and pick the jailbreak for your version of iOS (currently at the time of writing this is 7.0.4). Once done with that procedure and you have Cydia installed, head back here to continue.

II. Install AppBox

1. Open Cydia.

2. Tap Search in the bottom right corner.

3. Type in AppBox.

4. Tap on AppBox when it shows up.

5. Tap Purchase at the top right and follow the prompts to login and purchase using your preferred method.

6. Tap Close when you’ve paid.

7. Tap Install where Purchase used to be.

8. Tap Confirm

9. Tap Restart.

III. Configure AppBox

1. Tap the Enable switcher to the On (green) position.

2. Tap Apps.

3. Tap Apps again.

  • There are 6 default apps, but you can add or remove apps by tapping on the 3 horizontal lines next to each app name, and dragging them.

4. Tap Auto-Unlock

  • To make your phone lock itself after using an app from the lock screen, tap the Enable switcher to the On (green) position next to Enable Aut0-Unlock to temporarily unlock your phone when opening apps from the lock screen. Tap in your pass code in the box below
  • To leave your phone unlocked after using an app from the lock screen, tap the Enable switcher to the On (green) position. Tap in your pass code in the box below.
  • To leave your phone unlocked with only certain apps from your lock screen, tap Auto-Unlock Apps, and tap and drag apps from Enabled down to Disabledy to prevent those particular apps from keeping your phone unlocked.

IV. Use AppBox

1. Press the physical lock/unlock button on the top right of your device.

2. On your lock screen, swipe from right to left to find the app shortcuts.
