Leak: Galaxy Mini 2 (S6500) puts in an unofficial appearance
The original Galaxy Mini (S5570) which was released last February did not make a big splash, Samsung wouldn’t have expected it to, considering it was a low-end device designed for the budget minded. But it does seem to have done fairly well, as Sammy seems to be prepping a sequel to the device. The Galaxy Mini 2 (or the S6500 if you like model numbers better or the Jena, if you like mysterious codenames) has popped up recently and if you were a fan of the original, you will love the improvements this one brings.
The affordable device will feature a 3.3 HVGA display (against 3.14 inches on the original device), a slightly faster 800MHz processor, a 3MP camera, and HSDPA connectivity. The OS loaded will be Android 2.3 Gingerbread and it is very likely that this is what the device will rock for all its life, since ICS may be deemed too heavy to be handled by its so-so specs.
The device could be revealed at the MWC next month, if the “February 2012” we see on the promo is anything to go by, and we will be here to get you more dirt on this little fella once it pops up.
