Leaks Shed Light on HTC’s Upcoming Trio of Android Handsets, M7 Expected to Hit Retail Shelves This Spring
HTC is gearing up for their upcoming NYC press event scheduled for February 19th and up until this point all of the buzz has been surrounding the company’s brand new flagship phone, dubbed the M7. However, according to new information gathered by Evleaks, HTC will be showcasing a “multi-device lineup” to compliment the M7, which is now slated to hit retail shelves in Spring of 2013.
Reportedly, HTC will showcase the M7 alongside two additional smartphones: the M4, a mid-range device with respective specs and budget conscious device called the G2, that aims at being this year’s version of the HTC Desire C.
As far as specific specs go, the M4 is expected to run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor on-board Additional rumored specs include a 4.3-inch 720 p display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage and a 13 megapixel rear facing camera.
Keeping the consumer on a budget in mind, the HTC G2 will run Android Ice Cream Sandwich and will have a 1.0GHz ARM Cortex processor with 512MB of RAM, a 3.5-inch HVGA (480 x 320) display, with a 5 megapixel rear camera only.
Let’s hope that this is the trio that will push HTC back into consumer’s hearts for 2013. While we’re pleased to see HTC designing phones for high, mid, and low budget markets, it’s simply too early to tell if this is what HTC needs to get back into the game.
