LG and Sony Ericsson Reveal Android 4.0 Upgrade Details
Thanks to a recent Facebook post made by LG, the manufacturer has revealed which of its smartphones will receive the official Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update first. The lucky handsets include the Optimus 2X, the Optimus Black, the Optimus 3D, and the Optimus LTE. LG plans to release a detailed upgrade schedule later this December. Don’t worry if your LG smartphone didn’t make the initial cut, as LG plans to roll out the Android 4.0 update to additional smartphones in the near future.
Not to be left out of the party, Sony Ericsson also released an announcement concerning Android 4.0 and their Xperia devices. Also utilizing their Facebook page to spread the news, Sony Ericsson Marketing Manager Maurizio de Palma confirmed that the Android 4.0 update will be arriving in March and headed straight to most Xperia owners. The company plans to roll out the Android 4.0 update to all Xperia devices released through 2011.
