LG Genesis to join US Cellular’s lineup on June 9
Like the HTC Merge that is joining the US Cellular ranks today, the LG Genesis is also a QWERTY-toting smartphone, but with a twist. The device features two touchscreen displays – a 3.5-incher on the outside with the internal display measuring 3.2 inches, both capable of 480×800 pixel resolution. What further sets it above the Merge is its 1GHz processor, while its HTC counterpart makes do with an 800MHz processor. Other features include a 5-megapixel camera, 430MB of internal memory with MicroSD expansion (8GB bundled) and a 1500mAH battery. The device runs a modified version of Android 2.2 currently and there’s no word on a Gingerbread update as of now.
The LG Genesis is priced at the same point as the HTC Merge – $149.99 – along with the customary two-year contract and will be released on June 9. So, if QWERTY is your thing and you are on US Cellular, you now have two options to choose from.
