LG Optimus Pad Android tablet in the works for a Q1 2011 release
LG may be late to the game, but it seems to be making up for the delayed entry with a bigger screen, a hell lot more processing power and a big leap to the Honeycomb version of Android, bypassing Froyo altogether. When released, the LG Optimus Pad will boast of a humongous 8.9-inch touchcreen display, a blazing fast dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 chip, and an unspecified amount of RAM, all crammed into a thin body and running Android 3.0 Honeycomb. According to Engadget, a “senior” official from the LG camp felt the need to let loose these details and if what he has revealed is to be believed, the LG Pad will invade both the European and American continents at the same time in the first quarter of 2011.
We admit that the Samsung Galaxy Tab still has its allure, but once the Optimus Pad is actually out on the streets in 2011, we won’t hold it against you if you jump ship 🙂
