LG Optimus Pad now available in the UK
Seems like a great day for someone buying a tablet (in the UK at least) as right behind the HTC Flyer comes LG’s 3D-capable Optimus Pad, which is available on Carphone Warehouse starting today. The device is on sale for a hefty £749.99 via the online retailer and if that’s too costly for you, you could opt for a 24-month contract at £25 pm, which gives 5GB of data every month at no extra cost.
If the Flyer has the “Scribe Pen” as its major selling point, the Optimus Pad has a 3D display, which doesn’t require glasses to view 3D content. The tablet also has dual 5-megapixel cameras to shoot 3D pictures and videos which can be uploaded to YouTube 3D. The Optimus Pad also comes with Honeycomb 3.0 out of the box, an edge over the HTC Flyer, although the high price tag will still be a deterrent for many buyers. The full list of major features include:
- 3D LCD touchscreen display with 16-million colors and a resolution of 768×1280 pixels
- 1GHz Nvidia Tegra2 dual-core processor
- Dual 5MP cameras with 2MP secondary camera for video calling/chatting
- 32GB internal memory with microSD expansion
- Bluetooth, WLAN, aGPS and DLNA connectivity with HSDPA 10.2Mbps download speeds
- HDMI out
