LG to release a Skype edition of the Optimus Black for Telus
The specs are the same as the original Optimus Black – 4 inch NOVA display, 5MP rear lens with a 2mpx secondary cam, and Android 2.2 OS to name a few. But the one difference is the Skype branding, which seems needless if you consider that anyone with a capable Android handset can download the app for free via the Market. Nevertheless, the Skyped Optimus Black is headed for Telus some time in the summer and users buying this special edition will get the Skype app preinstalled and a free $2 credit in their Skype account. These users will also be able to add credits to their VOIP account directly from their Telus account, which should help many Canadians centralize their mobile and VOIP expenses.
Pricing is yet to be revealed, but expect it to be on par with the plain old Optimus Black.
