Motorola Droid X gets a CyanogenMod 7 build
The Droid X has already seen itself upgraded to Gingerbread officially, but for those who like the extra tweaks that CM7 brings, cvpcs of RootzWiki has developed a ROM catering to just those needs. The chef has brewed up a pretty solid build except for a few kinks – a non-working camera and sporadically working YouTube app.
The torch app also tends to force-close a lot, but this is something that can be lived with compared to the former defects and overall, makes this a usable CM7 ROM. That said, the dev in question is still working on it and we should expect to see these disappear in future versions.
The installation doesn’t seem as straightforward as others, but with extra care, Droid X users should be able to get it up and running in no time. They will need to downgrade to Froyo though, as the ROM still uses the Android 2.2 kernel.
