Motorola Droid X2 receiving the Gingerbread update now
Released in May this year with top-of-the-line specs, the Motorola Droid X2 sounded like a great dual-cored device except for one noticeable letdown – no Android 2.3 OS out of the box. Verizon has now remedied this drawback and devices across the country should be getting the “Update Available” notification as we write.
The version being rolled out is Android 2.3.3, so you will have to wait a bit longer to see it bumped up to 2.3.4. Still, this is a big leap with a host of new features appearing on the Droid X2 compared to what Froyo offered previously.
If you haven’t received the notification yet, you can do it manually by navigating to Menu>Settings>About phone>System updates.
