Motorola Photon 4G gets an interim update, improves WiFi performance
The Photon 4G may not be getting a major update for a while to come since it’s already running Android 2.3.4 but the manufacturer is working towards fixing bugs and improving the device’s overall performance. This latest update, which brings the device’s OS number up to 4.5.1A-1_SUN-154_6/45.2.7.MB855.Sprint.en.US, is mainly aimed at improving WiFi performance but there are reports that the handset feels slightly faster than before, which is saying something for a phone with a dual-core CPU.
Anyways, here’s what Moto wants you to do if you haven’t got the OTA notification to upgrade:
- Select the Settings icon in the main menu.
- Select “About phone”.
- Select “System updates”.
- A message will display the availability of an update. Ensure your phone is connected to the Sprint wireless network or Wi-Fi
- Select “Download”.
- After the software is downloaded, select “Install”.
