Motorola claims that the device should hit retail shelves either late August or the beginning of September, but individual carriers are responsible for their own releases. That leaves us twiddling our thumbs waiting for exact dates to leak out. So, if you can’t wait for the device to launch with your carrier of choice, and have money to burn, then ebay may be a viable option for you. The internet retailer has a Moto X “prototype” with a “Buy It Now” price of $799.95.
