New Carrier Defense Mobile To Offer Sprint CDMA and LTE to Active Duty Forces, Reserves, and Veterans
The US military has taken the time and energy to provide soldiers with smartphones on the battlefield, but what about the precious time that soldiers are off of the battlefield? Who’s providing cellular service for their personal lives?
A new carrier, Defense Mobile, aims at filling that need by teaming up with Sprint to provide service for active-duty forces, reserves and veterans. The provider will offer plans at enlisted rank budgets, ranging from $20 for the basics to $60 for a family plan. The company has already confirmed handsets like the Samsung Galaxy S 4, HTC One and the iPhone 5.
Defense Mobile hopes to go live in 2014 with branding and apps to coincide with each specific military branch. The full press release follows below.
