Nexus One Simple 3G Fix?

So apparently the issue that some Nexus One’s have been having with staying on 3G can be easily fixed.  LKontheRun discovered that if he went into Menu > Settings > Wireless & Network Settings > Mobile Networks > Network Operators > waited for it to scan > then selected Select Automatically that his phone had 3G reception where it used to have EDGE.

So while Google still hasn’t responded to any of this or come out with their own update, feel free to give this a try and let us know if it worked.

  1. I have the same problem with my MT3G. So, I selected automatically and it went to edge, i selected T-Mobile and i got 3g, then back to auto, and it stayed with 3g. I’m confused.. hope it works 🙂

  2. also if you type *#*#4636#*#* then go to phone information scroll to the bottom and and where it says WCDMA preferred and click WCDMA only it will only let you use 3g and never switch to edge, but fair warning if you are not in a 3g connection area you will have no signal, but it can be easily changed back..found on XDA
