Nexus One to get Android 2.3 Gingerbread sooner than expected
The picture below was posted by Google Mobile via Twitter with the message, “Our cafes are baking something sweet,” which only indicates one thing, the Gingerbread is ready for the world and its release is imminent – a matter of days to be a bit more specific. Moreover, the Nexus One will be one of the first Android handsets to receive the update, as tweeted by an OHA member recently.
Prepare your Nexus One (Developer version) for Android OTA update 2.3 (Gingerbread) in the next few days 😀
So, go ahead, take your eyes off the Nexus S, it’s not going anywhere, and watch your Nexus One for that little notification icon.
Sooner the expected…It was expected the 11th!

Gingerbread been ready….the holdup maybe two things…1) Issues that came up with Samsungs Nexus S..probably hardware or switch to dual-core as suggested somewhere. I think Google maybe bending backwards to accomodate and give Samsung a lil more time or more test to be done on Nexus S. 2) They might have discovered some issue or issues with Gingerbread hence the resent update to N1 (FRG83D) which is still as yet to hit most N1s. Either way the wait is killing eager Android fans worldwide especially those of us with vanila android devices…N1 first in line :). I think Gingerbread will be annouced when Nexus S ready…but how much longer? Googles own top man Eric Schmidt displayed the rumured Nexus S on Web 2.0 summit…hoping just a few kinks need ironing out and voila….Gingerbread will be released to the masses
