No Gingerbread love for the LG Optimus 3D until October
Yes, this is indeed bad news, but there’s a silver lining. Apparently, the Android 2.3 update for the Froyo-munching Optimus 3D is being held back until October for one significant reason more than any – giving users the ability to upscale 2D to 3D on apps which utilize OpenGL for graphics. That does seem like a solid reason and we are sure most of LG’s 3D handset users will agree with us on this sentiment – after all, what’s the fun in owning a 3D device if you can’t watch 3D content that you didn’t shoot, right?
We’ll keep our eyes peeled for more tidbits on this subject, but for now, patience is the only option that we can offer to our Optimus 3D lovers.
